If you are a writer looking to get your work published, then this session is for you. Join Hunter as they run down all of the things you need to know in order to get your words in print!

Topics covered will include:
- How do I know when I’ve finished writing?
- Self-publishing versus traditional publishing: which one is for me?
- DIY versus hiring professionals: the pros and cons
- Preparing your work for submission: who is this for?
- Comparative research: what is my USP and how do I show it?
- Laying out a roadmap: your step-by-step guide to publication

The talk will run for approximately 45 minutes, with plenty of time afterwards for questions, and opportunities for networking. Suitable for all types of writers!

Hunter has worked in the publishing industry for well over a decade, and spent 3 early years freelancing as an editor for indie presses producing poetry pamphlets and literary magazines. Their experience in the industry ranges from proofreading to shipping, via sales, inventory, production, and of course editorial – at a range of companies from tiny indies to international corporations. They are passionate about getting writers writing and making the publishing process as transparent as possible!

Refreshments will be available, and all participants will receive a guide to take home - just bring yourself and something to take notes with!
